A photojournalist is defined as a journalist who presents a story primarily through the use of photographs. Unlike with classic family photography, I will meet you at your home (or a favorite hangout spot) on a regular day, in your regular clothes, to tell your family's story. I won't ask you to dress up or smile at the camera. Instead, my goal is to capture the mayhem and the moments of calm, the unprompted hugs and kisses, the laughter, the tears, the dirty fingernails, the crooked pigtails, the shoving of snacks into tiny mouths, the living room cluttered with toys, and all the other bits and pieces that make family life gloriously messy and beautiful. As a parent myself, I wholeheartedly believe that these are the memories that are the hardest to let go of and that we look back on most fondly.
I live in Oakland, CA with my husband and our hilarious 6-year old daughter, who claims puppies are cuter than babies. I will shoot anywhere in the Bay Area, and am available for sessions on Sundays, Mondays, and Thursdays.
You can follow me on Instagram (where I mostly post iPhone photos of my own family, and where I love to overshare) here.
